I used Articulate Storyline to design a nine-module online learning certification course for Cultural Orientation providers. It is self-paced and interactive. Topics covered include an overview of refugees and the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), working with interpreters, adult learning theory and how to apply it etc. I also installed and manage LearnDash, a Wordpress-based LMS (learning management system) to administer the quizzes, track completion, and award certificates.
I worked with a team and Horsager Leadership to convert this valuable resource into a "Trust Edge in a Box" for smaller companies and non-profit organizations. It will be geared towards those without previous training or facilitation experience. I served in multiple categories including project manager, instructional designer, writer and editor.
This is a webinar I did for the Maryland chapter of the ATD (the leading professional organization for instructional designers and others in training). It covers some basics of copyright and fair use geared towards instructional designers. We used Gotomeeting.
Simone worked with a video producer, video editor, web developer and subject matter experts to create this one hour online training in Captivate 7 for The LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Aging Center and HHS (The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services). It is geared towards long term care workers to raise awareness of the special concerns of the increasing number of LGBT older adults. She used her writing, research, editing, photoshop and project management skills in the process. In it she demonstrates what she was able to do with mobile technology with limited resources, including books for the iPad and her first mobile app.
Simone worked independently with a subject matter expert in South Africa to create a 20 minute online university course for PSI International (a global health non-profit) using Adobe Captivate. Click here to view the complete interactive module.
Simone created this interactive module in Captivate because she felt that many people don't adequately understand copyright and fair use. This module shares some of the many resources where one can obtain high quality images legally, with respect for the intellectual property rights of others. Click here to view it.
