Saving Slave Houses SHEET Field School
Nerds Make Media is honored to work with Saving Slave Houses founder Jobie Hill. Our collaboration is producing a series of short documentaries about the 2024 & 2025 SHEET field school - (Slave Houses Exploration & Evidence Tracing field school). The two season hybrid field school and public workshop takes place at Pharsalia in Nelson County, Virginia, a unique 1816 plantation with many preserved slave houses & work buildings. Most SHEET participants are themselves descendants of slaves, and come from a variety of backgrounds, professions, and experiences. All the field school students have in common a deep interest in historic preservation, & the desire to uncover and tell the neglected stories of enslaved people & their vital contributions to American history.

The World We Wanted
In the 1950s and 1960s, the New York Herald Tribune World Youth Forum gathered 30 bright teenagers from around the globe to learn about America. They also discussed religion, women's rights, and world peace on television. Now, 62 years after their 1959 TV broadcast, filmmaker Richard Hall and historian & author Catherine Bishop reunite some of these "students" to explore how their perspectives on these critical topics have changed over time. Available for educators, libraries, & other institutions via Docuseek. 24 minutes
